 Desk: People have to face a lot of difficulties in getting a driving license and getting a vehicle registration certificate. Especially many rounds of RTO offices have to be made, but still people's work is not being done easily. In view of this, the Assam state government has started an online system through which people can sit RC and DL at their homes.

Transport Secretary Adil Khan said that a new system has been introduced to replace chip-based smart cards with QR code-based registration certificates and driving license cards. He said that it has been implemented as per the notification of the Union Ministry of Road Transport.

The Transport Secretary said that under the new system, there will be no need to visit the DTO office again and again to submit documents, pay fees and obtain driving license or RC. Along with the QR code provided under the system, the new RC will have additional security features like guilloche pattern, micro line, watermark and hologram under the top column.
