Full details of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sammand Nidhi Yojana

Purpose-

The objective of the scheme is to meet the financial needs of all the landholding farmers' families in procuring various inputs commensurate with the household needs along with the anticipated agricultural income, to ensure proper crop health and proper yields. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs.6000/- per annum is directly released online by the Central Government into the bank accounts of eligible farmers under Direct Benefit Transfer mode, subject to certain exceptions.

Benefits and eligibility conditions

• As per the cabinet decision taken in May 2019, all land holder eligible farmer families (subject to the prevailing exclusion norms) are to get benefits under this scheme. About 2 crore more farmers are expected to be covered in the revised scheme, thereby increasing the coverage of PM-KISAN to about 14.5 crore beneficiaries

• Under this scheme, financial benefits have been provided to all small and marginal landholder farmer families with total cultivable holding up to 2 hectares, with a benefit of Rs.6000 per family per year, payable in three equal installments every four months.

Exclusion Categories

The following categories of beneficiaries of high economic status will not be eligible for benefits under the scheme:

• All institutional landholders. 

• Farmer families in which one or more of its members belong to the following categories. 

• Former and current holders of constitutional posts.

• Former and present Ministers/Ministers of State and former/present members of Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha/State Legislative Assemblies/State Legislative Councils, former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, past and present Presidents of District Panchayats.

• All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/State Government Ministries/Offices/Departments and its field units Central or State PSEs and attached Offices/Autonomous Institutions under Government as well as regular employees of Local Bodies (Multi Tasking Staff/Category (Except IV/Group D Employees)

• All retired/retired pensioners of the above category having monthly pension of Rs.10,000/- or more (Except Multi Tasking Staff/Category IV/Group D Employees

• All those persons who had paid income tax in the previous assessment year.

• Professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants, and architects register with professional bodies and complete the profession by starting practices.

Benifits-

• Financial profit Rs. 6000 per annum per family payable in three equal installments of Rs.2000 each, every four months.

Eligibility-

• All landholding farmer families having cultivable land in their name are eligible to get benefits under the scheme.
