WhatsApp: WhatsApp is working on an option to hide your phone number from members of any sub-group of the community. Apart from this, WhatsApp has released the official status update today.
There is hardly anyone who does not use WhatsApp. On WhatsApp, you can either chat with a person individually or create a group. If you're being added to a group with someone else, it's possible that the group will have members you don't know. But you can see his mobile number and he can see your mobile number anytime. In such a situation, anyone's number is misused and can be shared with others without his permission. But you will not have to worry about number theft because, now WhatsApp is working on an option, using which you will be able to hide your phone number from members of any sub-group of the community. The company is currently working on this feature and it can be rolled out with future updates.
WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp feature tracking site, tweeted, "WhatsApp beta 2.22.1.7.23 for Android: What's new? WhatsApp is working on hiding phone numbers for certain sub-groups of a community, with a view to the future of the app." Thanks for the phone number sharing option for the update!" According to a report by WABetaInfo, after the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.23 update, the phone number sharing option will be available in the group data section itself.
